"King Salsa" features the legendary conguero Robin Jones, whose career includes spells with Machito, Mongo Santamaria, Charlie Palmieri, Arturo Sandoval, Stan Getz, and Eddie Henderson. The dynamic "King Salsa" line-up also currently features the charismatic vocal and percussion talents of Enrique Puente and Felix Gonzales (Cuba) and Carlos Fuentes (Chile), plus Omar Puente (Cuba) who guests on violin and percussion. The rhythm section is completed by Marc Cecil, one of the most sought after timbaleros in the UK. The bass chair features the wonderful Jonny Gee, while the piano is in the virtuoso hands of Australian Andrew Noble. The Brass section is spearheaded by the formidable lead trumpet of Dan Carpenter, plus the solo skills of Gavin Broom, Tom Allen and Tom Ashe. Saxophonist/Flautist Jamie M. Harris features heavily, and the trombone star & Musical Director is Tim Smart. |
